So, this is my first official quilt I've made. I've made some rag quilts, but never a REAL quilt. I wish I had a little more time to spend quilting, which would have make this process seem not so long. I'm both happy and disappointed with how this turned out. While I'm not yet finished, I'm close.
Here it is.
The front is a simple hour glass pattern. I wanted a more uniform look. So, I made a repeating pattern with my fabrics, rather than randomly placing the tiles.
The back is simple also. I just used some left over blocks I had cut and pieced them together with coordinating green and purple panels.
I'm sure those skilled quilters can RIGHT away see my flaws. I really took my time and cut all my blocks very precisely. I pinned. I pressed. I thought I did everything right. However, some of my seams didn't match. Some blocks were a little off. I had no one to help me with my questions, other than checking blogs.
So, I'm thinking for my first quilt, I didn't do terrible. I just wish it were PERFECT. Well, on to sandwiching and quilting.
I'm not the only one striving for perfection. Our little one is practicing her name, Lilly. I think she's doing a great job!
